Q. What is your favorite place to visit?
A. I love traveling and am happy to go anywhere at any time because each place has something unique and awesome to offer. But if I had to pick a place, it would be the Pacific North West.

Q. What is your favorite color technique?
A. I like to hand paint. It’s relaxing and free.

Q. Who do you admire most in the industry?
A. John Paul DeJoria and Paul Mitchell. They are the original industry renegades and were way ahead of their time. It’s easy to see John Paul Mitchell Systems as a corporate giant, but it’s really a family business based on a simple concept of making hairdressers’ dreams come true. Hair stylists have always been the heart of their business, and it’s an honor to be able to continue that vision and be supported by that type of leadership.

Q. How do you push yourself every day?
A. I don’t … and I don’t think others should either. Life is a balance, and balance to me provides happiness. Happiness leads to confidence, and confidence leads to success. Sometimes it’s more important to recognize success than it is to constantly push for it.

Q. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced?
A. It’s been running my own salon and business. You have to rely on the relationships you build with others. Relying on others can be difficult and challenging, especially if you see things differently. But when you trust people and grow with them, it becomes less of a challenge in the long run.

Q. What are your must-have products?
A. I love the new Paul Mitchell Chocolate+ color series. Not only are the shades incredibly beautiful and rich in tonality, but they also offer superior natural coverage for those guests who have stubborn grays. I love Skylight lightener. It really lifts and without any swelling. It’s very gentle. I use The Demi every day! It provides guests with such shine and condition. It’s a great experience for them and easy for the stylist to use. We are launching some new high-level tones in this family that I know everyone is going to love!
